During October, I photographed two events for emvan (east midlands visual arts network) Their ‘Annual Overview’ event at Quad in Derby, where speakers included Alessandro Vincentelli from The Baltic and Donna Lynas from Wysing Arts Centre discussing differences between artists, audiences and organisations and how their relationships can push the limits of art practise. The second event was ‘How to survive an open’ a talk in relation to the increasing popularity of ‘the open’ in the east midlands. The event was held at the Nottingham Castle where the Nottingham Annual Open took place.

So it’s about time I updated my blog. I have been very busy working on a few internships. In November I interned at Taylor Mcardle for 2 weeks, while here I produced various digital prints. I then went on to Mirjam Rouden for a month before christmas where I created designs by painting directly onto fabric which I really enjoyed. I gained a lot of experience of how a design studio works and what is expected of you as a designer. My designs are in both collections so maybe fingers crossed something will sell. Not that I will find out but ill have to look out for my prints I guess.
For now I have set up a society6 account and will be designing and selling my work. Also if anyone wants to employ me as a print designer? Well, I’m available.
Pictures to follow from my two placements.
